Hello again all, just a quick news update on the Nintendo front, I awoke today to find a rather exciting email asking if I’d like to take part in the ‘New 3DS Ambassador Program’ at which point my mind melted and I instantly starting loading money into my Super Scope and blasted straight at Nintendo’s charming face.
Nintendo Europe is giving specially chosen fans (or being described as ‘loyal’ fans) the chance to purchase a New Nintendo 3DS before the official launch of the system. How these ambassadors are chosen is still as of yet unknown however Nintendo have released a statement on the selection process to Eurogamer but have failed to give away anything too revealing. See below:
‘The New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador offer is by email invitation only for selected Club Nintendo members in Europe only who fulfil a certain criteria.
We are unable to disclose such business information, however we would like to reassure you that we are continually looking at different promotional offerings we can bring to consumers at various times throughout the year.
The terms and conditions for such promotional activities are individual to each promotion, but we will endeavour to bring you more promotional activities in the future, which we hope you will be able to take advantage of.’
Emails are being sent out to some Club Nintendo members in the UK today, (thankfully my fan-boyish-ness has paid off) so if you haven’t already check your emails and you may discover that you have the chance to purchase a special Ambassador Edition bundle for £179.99 and not only that but the other great news is that the consoles are also ready to ship within the next 3-5 days.
This is great news for those who are looking to pick up the system early and for those looking to pick up some of the great new titles coming to the new 3DS this year, such as the Majora’s Mask remake or the highly anticipated (at least by me) Monster Hunter 4! The bundle also looks to add a few nice extras however continues the weird tradition of newer Nintendo systems not including chargers which as of yet still doesn’t make much sense to me.
So, whats in the bundle?:
- New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition Bundle system in White – Value of £155.99
- An exclusive Ambassador Edition Cover Plate (Back)
- An exclusive Ambassador Edition Cover Plate (Front) – Value of £7.67
- New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition Bundle stylus
- 4 GB micro SDHC memory card
- A set of AR Cards
- A Quick-Start Guide
- An Operations Manual
- A set of front and back Super Smash Bros. cover plates – Value of £7.67
- A charging cradle for the console in White – Value of £7.67
Here is a closer look at the available plate options:
Both look fantastic and I can’t wait to pick up my new 3DS in the next 3-5 days, don’t get me wrong, I’ll regret this in a few months when the XL version inevitably hits the shelves, (made this mistake every time) but it’s nice to get a glimpse ahead and to receive such a great bonus from loyalty (I presume :P).
Hopefully you got an email too, so please check your emails and let me know if you did, I’m always looking for more 3DS friend and potential trading partners for Pokemon (Looking for a Snorunt with great IV’s :P).
See you all soon for my review of this new system, and apologies if this sets Helsreach back a step!
